SE4A University was established to meet the growing needs of staff who serve our senior population in the Southeast and a way for the Board of Directors to extend the annual training conference opportunities to those in our network who cannot participate on an annual basis. We have discovered that it is becoming necessary to support staff to improve skills and competencies to assure we remain competitive and reach our goal of growing our business and our impact going forward. Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER) at Boston University
The Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER) is dedicated to strengthening the workforce that provides health and long-term supports and services to older adults and people with disabilities. The Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging (se4a) has partnered with BU’s CADER to offer the competency-based training your staff needs for effective practice. BU’s CADER will provide your staff with high quality, cost-effective, self-paced certificate programs and online courses that will enhance staff knowledge and expand their skill set. All graduates of this program will receive continuing education credits and a certificate from Boston University.

Elsevier - Direct Course
Elsevier - Direct Course offers a nationally recognized training curriculum for direct care workers. They started over 20 years ago developing content through the National Centers of Excellence for workers in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities field. Most recently, and the primary reason SE4A University recruited them, they added new content specifically for the Personal Assistance and Caregiving workforce. Society of Certified Senior Advisors
Society of Certified Senior Advisors provides a nationally recognized certification for those at upper management levels with the AAA. The team at SCSA is also working with SE4A to survey AAAs across the region to identify specific traning needs and devleop solutions to support the AAA with their training goals. http://www.csa.us
